SAM sand dunes are the only pure shifting sand dunes in India. Its vast silvery expanse of sand patterns carved out by the wind is a breathtaking sight. It is the closest point to witness the total sandy desert. Viewing the sunrise and the sunset from the dunes is a life time experience. Camel ride on the sand dunes is an unforgettable moment to cherish. Sam has a truly magnificent stretch of sweeping dunes, with little or no vegetation. Explore the area in an authentic and leisurely fashion, with entertainment by folk artists, visits to villages, and see the typical flora and fauna of the desert.
Accommodation
The Oasis India Camp captures the luxurious nostalgia of a bygone era of royal safari and shikar camps. The tents have been innovatively crafted using the traditional skills and crafts of Marwar. The Camp consists of individual tents, each with a verandah, a bedroom and a bathroom. There is a large dining tent serving the best of Rajasthani cuisine. The Camp islocated in a large private site overlooking the Mela ground and flanked by open fields and hills. The Mela ground is within easy walking distance and the town of Pushkar can be
approached on foot or camel, through the Mela, or by car along the road. A campfire is focal point for the evening s entertainment programme with the rhythms of the Thar desert folk music, dances, magic and puppet shows.Tents
