Camel Fair : The colourful Pushkar Camel Fair, one of India's biggest festivals, brings visitors from all over the world. The date of the fair can vary according to the Hindu calendar but it always falls on the full moon of Kartik Purnima, or sometime in October/November. More than 2,00,000 people bring an estimated 50,000 camels to the town. The objective is not only livestock trading but also pilgrimage and festivities in the form of camel races and street theatre. Musicians and jugglers regale the tourists and pilgrims alike as the town throbs with activity.
Temples: Pushkar is the only place in the world where Lord Brahma, the Hindu God of Creation, is worshipped. Brahma Temple, the most important temple is dedicated to this deity. A one-hour trek up to the hilltop Savitri Temple overlooks the majestic lake and celebrates Brahma's wife, Savitri.

By Air: The nearest airport is at Jaipur which is 150 km away. There are a number of Indian Airlines flights connecting Jaipur to Delhi, Bombay, Jodhpur and Udaipur.
By Rail: Ajmer is on the Delhi - Jaipur - Marwar - Ahmedabad line and most trains stop here, There is also a fast train Shatabadi Express connecting Ajmer to Jaipur and Delhi. The comfortable train is fully air-conditioned and leaves Delhi at 6.15 am on all days except Sunday. The train reaches Ajmer at 1.30 pm. From Ajmer railway station, Pushkar is a half-an-hour drive.
By Road: There are regular bus services from Jaipur, and other major cities of Rajasthan to Ajmer.
